- “In 2013, my parents gifted me drum lessons with Angel Bartolotta, unknowingly setting me on a path that would last over a decade and counting. I gained a deep sense of passion with drumming, playing in multiple shows, but the biggest turning point came when Angel suggested I become an instructor. Teaching not only allowed me to help others but also helped me grow as a drummer. Through Angel’s mentorship, I gained a deeper understanding of both drumming and instruction. His guidance shaped me into the musician I am today, and I’m grateful that I take lessons with Angel.” – Tommy Payne
- “Hannah was born deaf and has Down Syndrome, but I think, along with many others that it should be renamed Up Syndrome because for the most part people with Down Syndrome are happy, loving people with great personalities! Hannah has never let her ability stop her from doing what she loves. She has a passion for music, she loves dance, baseball and of course drum lessons with Angel! With over 3 years taking lessons, drums has had a huge impact with her hand eye coordination, and learning to keep a beat to music. She’s so proud when she completes a page in her drum book and gets her stickers! I think most of all she just loves rocking out with Angel! In Hannah’s words, “I like drumming with Angel because it rocks!” – Jennifer Weaver
- “In 2016, I contacted a new music studio that had just opened called The Rock Box. I reached out to the founder, Angel Bartolotta, and explained to him that I have a 5 year old son who has severe autism and is nonverbal, but he loves music. I asked if he had any experience with children with disabilities and said to him “I don’t care if he learns to play, read the music or even if he just watches you play. Either way it would be a great experience.” He did just that! He learned how to play some parts of songs, he watched Angel play, and they became very good friends. From picking his own music, always trying to trip Angel up with something new, to playing the same “Cars” song over and over. 9 years later, we had our last lesson with Angel as is moving on to his next chapter and so are we. If you ever want someone who is patient, caring, and just puts his all into each and every student, no matter their abilities, then Angel is your guy, hands down!” – Sarah White-Bednarek
